Each product has a distinct enzymatic focus: Rovabio® Excel enhances NSP degradation across a broad range of diets; Rovabio® Advance provides a wider enzymatic spectrum suitable for all species and feed types; Rovabio® Advance Phy combines multi‑carbohydrase activity with an additional 1000 FTU of phytase to boost phosphorus availability and maximise matrix value use.
Enhancing feed digestibility and nutrient absorption with synergistic enzyme action
The Rovabio® portfolio breaks down antinutritional factors that limit nutrient accessibility. NSP hydrolysis opens plant cell walls and releases starch and proteins. In Rovabio® Advance Phy, the added phytase rapidly degrades phytate within plant cells, releasing phosphorus and improving mineral absorption. These combined actions reduce intestinal viscosity, improve endogenous enzyme access and support a more efficient utilisation of feed components.
Mode of action
The Rovabio® portfolio improves the digestibility of feed by enhancing the breakdown of non-starch polysaccharides (NSP) in animal diets. NSP hydrolysis breaks down cell walls, which reduces intestinal viscosity, a factor that can limit nutrient absorption. This process allows animals to access a greater proportion of the nutrients present in the feed, leading to more efficient digestion.
The Rovabio® portfolio demonstrates consistent efficacy by facilitating easier access for endogenous enzymes that break down proteins and carbohydrates. This comprehensive enzyme profile allows for effective nutrient utilisation across different feed formulations, ensuring animals can better absorb essential nutrients, regardless of the feed type.
Rovabio® Advance and Excel reduce ammonia emissions by improving feed digestibility and nutrient absorption, which leads to less nitrogen excretion. Its prebiotic-like effect promotes beneficial microbiota and supports gut health. Additionally, Rovabio® Advance Phy breaks down phytate within plant cells, increasing the availability of phosphorus and other nutrients bound to phytate. This enhances nutrient absorption and reduces the amount of undigested phosphorus excreted by animals, lowering environmental emissions.
